We see the creature, beautiful in its naturalness. The creature's longing and vision for companionship and ultimately, his resulting revenge impulse are captured in the wheatpaste portraits in the background. That impulse for pairing is also captured in the white skeletal overlays at illustration front. The manuscript elements underscore the creative process itself.
